The Town of Santa Claus has three major departments.
Governmental Activities encompasses all activities in the town except the Water and Wastewater. Generally this department derives its revenue from taxes.
Water and Wastewater are enterprises which rely on the revenues from user fees.
In 2016 the town received $6.5 million in revenue and spent $5.7 million between the three departments:
- 2016 General Government – $2.9 million in Revenue and $2.5 million in expenses.
- 2016 Wastewater – $1.6 million in revenue and $1.4 million in expenses.
- 2016 Water – $1.9 million in revenue and $1.8 million in expenses.
